Shape Effects and Colour Effects (Go to Colour Effects) can be used to enhance your boatname. |
| Shape Effects |
| Shape effects alter the shape of the name to produce a variety of new designs. They can be used along with colour effects if so desired. ie. you can apply 'shadow' to 'arched' lettering. |
| ARC |
| Lettering can be ARC DOWN (as left) or ARC UP (the opposite). The standard arc will take the lettering from the baseline up to the letter height; however the result will depend upon the number of letters in the name. For short names shallower arcs of around half to a quarter of the letter height give the best results |

| SLOPE |
| Some styles are italics and already have right slope letters. Slope in any of the four directions can be applied to any of the others. |

| CURVE |
| Curving of base or top can be applied either up or down or both. Curved to about half of the letter height. |

| RAISED |
| Often used by signwriters, the size of the first and last letter is increased. Almost always used with all capitals. The first letter only (or any letters) can be raised if desired. |

| Colour Effects |
| Colour Effects can be applied to most of the styles shown on the centre pages. They can be used together with shape effects eg. you can have arched shadowed letters. Shadow is the most popular effect. Standard shadow letters have a gap between the shadow and the letter, and the shadow is on the right hand side of the letter as shown below. Shadow can be applied to the left hand side if required. Other colour effects available are outline and shadowline (outline and shadow together). All colour effects can be single colour or two colour as seen below. When used on single colour lettering the are priced from the single colour list. When a second colour is used they are priced from the two colour lists. |
